About Me...
Welcome to Kate Morris Tutoring...
I am passionate about teaching and helping children learn through fun and engaging activities on a one to one basis, working at a pace that’s right, whilst giving support and confidence to discover each individual’s true potential.

Work
I am an experienced primary school teacher who is currently working as a private tutor and specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor. I also work part time in local schools, giving specialist teaching to children there, working with the SENCos and supporting staff.
Dyslexia Friendly Society
Dyslexia/SpLD has long been close to my heart, both through my experience in mainstream teaching and that of my own family. We live daily with both the challenges and benefits dyslexia (plus ADHD & ASD/Autism) brings. Increasing awareness, understanding and a Dyslexia Friendly Society is something that I’m passionate about.
Family
I am married with two daughters in their late teens/early 20’s. I have previously served as a parent governor at their school. You can read more about my story here.

“Kate has been tutoring our grandson for a little while and she has established a very positive pupil/teacher relationship with him. She is very knowledgeable and has been a great help in supporting him with his learning difficulties. We are very impressed with how enthusiastic he is to go to his session with Kate and how much he tells us about it afterwards.”
“The techniques that Mrs Morris has taught me during our lessons have allowed me to write better and more independently in class.”
“Mrs Morris plays games that make learning stick in my head. I use her keyring and the rhymes for all of my spellings, and I have noticed that my spelling has improved so much since I started seeing her.”
